Synonode
NewThe Synonode docs

Your own AI, on your own computer.

Synonode puts the model you run at home to work: it builds apps, writes and fixes code, answers, researches and writes documents. It checks its own work before it says done, and you reach it from any browser or your phone.

Linux and Windows Your projects never leave your computers No open ports, no tunnels

Runs on the model you choose

  • llama.cpp
  • LM Studio
  • Ollama
  • vLLM
  • Jan
  • or any OpenAI-compatible API, with your key
What it does

One assistant for the code, the questions and the paperwork.

Coding comes first, and the rest comes with it. Ask in your own words; Synonode works out whether you want an answer, a fix, a document or a whole app.

Builds whole apps

Web apps with pages, forms, data and logins, running in the preview while they're built, with a task list you can follow step by step. Scripts in Python, Node and more. Or bring the code you already have.

Answers and teaches

A question gets an answer, not a build. It explains step by step, draws a chart, a diagram, a formula or a small live widget right in the chat, checked the way your phone shows it, and writes a demo when trying beats reading.

Researches and writes

Research mode reads the web and cites its sources. It writes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files, and searches inside the documents you give it.

Remembers how you work

Say “always” or “never” once. It keeps what matters about you and each project, and you can see, edit or pause all of it.

Sends helpers

For a wide search, a plan or work in parallel, it starts agents with their own fresh context. With a small helper model beside yours, agents sent together start together: small ones on the helper, the rest on your model.

Plans before it builds

A bigger job starts with the few questions that matter and a plan you can read. Nothing is built until you approve it, and an app gets two designs to choose from first.

Sees what you see

It looks at the pages it builds, the screenshots you send and the pictures in your files, and shows you each one it looked at, large, right in the chat. Tap one to see it full size and draw on it. Send a video and it watches it: frames across the clip and every word said, with times.

Keeps going while you're away

Start something big at your desk and follow it from your phone. Send the next idea while it works, or queue it for after. A notification says when it's done.

Never loses your place

Every answer leaves a restore point. Undo a turn, go back to an earlier one, commit, branch and push to GitHub, all from the chat or the app.

How a build goes

From one sentence to a working app, with you at every turn.

What each step looks like in Synonode.

I want a cool weather app
A few things first, so the plan fits:
Search any city5-day forecastSaved places
LightDarkFollow the sky
Pick what you want, or just say it.
Point, don't describe

Draw on what's wrong.

Circle it, cross it out or draw an arrow, at any screen size, and say it in your own words. Synonode reads your marks the way a person would.

  • Select a part of the page and ask for a change to just that part.
  • Type over any text right in the preview.
  • It checks the fix at the size you drew on.
You drew A phone screenshot of the NOVA page with its menu open: the menu is see-through, its links printed over the page behind, and a red circle drawn around it.
“When i open this menu is transparent”
It fixed The same menu after the fix: a solid black screen with the six links and the Buy now button.
A solid menu over the whole screen, every link tapped to be sure.
Proof, not promises

It doesn't say “done” until it has looked.

Checks · weatherall passed
  1. Opened every page, desktop and phone width6 pages
  2. Pressed every button, saved every form23 controls
  3. Reloaded: the saved places are still theredata kept
  4. Everything you asked for is in9 of 9
  5. Text contrast and tap sizesWCAG AA
  6. The project's own tests14 passed
The weather app is ready. Search a city, and the next five days show with today's details on top.

It uses what it changed

After a change it opens the page in a real browser, on a computer and at phone width, and uses it the way you would.

It holds the result against your words

Every option you picked and every detail you gave is checked against what was built. What's missing goes back to the work, not to you.

It tells you what changed for you

No list of files and line numbers: what you can do now, how it was checked, and anything it noticed on the way.

Make it yours

Teach it, connect it, set the rules.

Skills

Teach it a way of working once and call it with a slash. Built-in skills cover documents, spreadsheets, slides, PDFs and research.

Connectors and plugins

Connect the services you use and install plugins that add skills and tools.

Permissions

Its commands run as you would in a terminal, the same on Linux and Windows, and never see Synonode's own keys. Choose how much it may do without asking; admin rights always ask first and say why.

Time and focus

Break reminders, quiet hours, and a monthly recap of what you made. See every setting.

Everything it can do

Private by design

The AI runs at home. The cloud only connects you to it.

Synonode Runner connects out to synonode.com, the way a chat app does. Your computer needs no open port, no router settings and no tunnel.

Any screen

A browser anywhere, or your phone.

synonode.com

Logs you in and passes messages along.

Synonode Runner

Your projects, the tools and the checks.

Your model

On your hardware, or an API you pick.

On your computer

Projects stay on your computers

A project and its chats live on the computer that has them. Open one on another computer and it's copied straight across, never stored in the cloud.

Several computers, one account

Connect your desktop and your laptop, and switch between them from the top bar.

Nothing is overwritten quietly

If two computers changed the same project, you choose which one wins. Incognito chats aren't saved or remembered at all.

What's new

It gets better every week.

Everything that changed

Get started

Three steps, a few minutes.

  1. Create an account

With your email and a password. An admin approves new accounts, and you'll be able to log in as soon as yours is.

  2. Install the runner

Log in: Synonode shows your own install command. Run it on the computer with your model, in a terminal on Linux or in PowerShell on Windows, with no administrator rights.

  3. Start working

Open Synonode Runner, click Detect to find your model, and open synonode.com from any screen.

Questions

Good questions.

Where does the AI run?

On the computer with Synonode Runner, on the model you started there, or on an online OpenAI-compatible API if you give the runner its address and key. synonode.com serves the app, handles your login and passes messages between your browser and your runner.

Where are my projects kept?

Only on your computers. synonode.com keeps a list of which computer has each project, nothing more.

What can it do on my computer?

It reads and writes your project's files and runs commands as you, within the permission mode you choose. A command that needs admin rights asks you first and says why. More about permissions.

Can I use it from my phone?

Yes, while one of your computers runs Synonode Runner. Add synonode.com to your home screen and it opens like an app.

Do I need a powerful computer?

For a local model, better hardware runs bigger models, and bigger models do better work. Synonode itself is light. An online API works on any computer.

Can I bring a project I already have?

Yes: import a GitHub repository (a private one too, with a token) or a .zip from the projects page.

Your model can do more than you think.

Give it a browser, a preview, its own checks, and a way to reach you anywhere.
