Connectors and plugins
Connect the services you use (MCP servers) and install plugins that bring skills, commands and connectors at once.
Connectors
A connector lets Synonode use a service: your issue tracker, your files, your database, your own tools. Connectors are MCP servers, the open standard many AI assistants use.
Add one
- Open Settings → Connectors
Choose to add a connector.
- Name it
Lowercase letters, numbers and dashes: how Synonode names it.
- Say how it is reached
Either an Address (the MCP server's web address, with a Token if it needs one), or a Command run on your computer when the connector is used.
- Say what it's for (optional)
One line Synonode reads to know when to use it.
In a chat, Synonode uses a connector when the work needs it: find the open bugs labelled checkout and fix the first one. Turn all connectors off with Connectors in Settings → Capabilities.
Tokens stay on your computer and are sent only to the connector's own address. A command connector runs with whatever you can do on your computer.
Plugins
A plugin bundles skills, slash commands and connectors. Synonode uses the standard plugin layout: skills/, commands/ and a .mcp.json, so many existing plugins work as they are.
Install one under Settings → Plugins, From a git address, or upload a .zip instead.
A plugin's skills can tell Synonode to run the plugin's own scripts on your computer. Install only plugins you trust.
Who can change them
Skills, connectors, plugins and design systems belong to the computer they're on. Only the account that computer's runner is logged in with can change them.
